Arnold’s Laptop Initiative

“Begin in 2006, continuing through today, education at Arnold Public School took a significant step forward with each student

receiving their own laptop computer. The distribution of the laptops represented the culmination of several years of study, planning,

and commitment on the part of our school board, staff and administration.

We are excited about our “One to One Initiative” because of the multitude of opportunities it affords our students.  Because

technology is such a fundamental part of our students’ lives, it is imperative that they effectively utilize it as a tool for learning.

It is also important that each and every student have equal access to the benefits of that technology. Each student having his or her

own computer levels the playing field in that regard.

We appreciate being able to share our experiences and excitement with you and hope you will find your visit interesting,

informative, and enjoyable.”

There are three types of laptop schools: the pioneers: those who want to shake things up, change and adjust and do better for their students; there are the marketers who want to get into the newspaper; and there are the neighbors, those who are looking in from the outside.
