Student Comments

The learning styles have changed because teachers are using more spur of the moment teachingtechniques. This may sound bad but

it’s not! Teachers will be talking along in a class and a student may ask a question that the teacher’s not sure about so the class looks

up the subject right there. Basically the teaching and presenting styles of the teachers and students have become more instantaneous

and the projects are easier for the students.

It has made being in annual staff a whole lot easier. With our laptops we can have the pages with us at all times so we can put more

effort towards them. Instead of having to go out to the Annual Staff room and trying to get to the computer your page is on. Because

other people were using the same computers for other assignments.
-Jacey Helmuth

The laptops have made me get my homework done a lot more efficiently, I can plug in my headphones and get work done by blocking

out outside noises. It is also easier to do homework at home.
-Jess E.

I have learned a lot from being able to have access to a laptop 24-7, because i can use the internet to do homework, and it even has

a lot of cool programs, and things to help me other subjects. Like for example the grapher that is on the computer, helps me, because

it makes certain things in math easier to do, because you can just go to it, type in your equation, and it will graph it for you. The

inspiration, power point, excel, and word make things easier to organize, and put together, and easier to study. Inspiration makes

it a lot easier for me to study for tests. i have learned a lot more about computers from having this laptop, and it has improved my

typing a lot compared to when we took typing classes with Mr.Cole. It makes things easier to turn in homework that might be late,

or i movies you have to make, or anything like that, because you can just drop it in a drop box. using i photo, and elements, and

adobe, and i movie, teach me a lot of new things.

The laptops are great because having your own laptop makes things so much easier. You don’t have to get up and go to the

computer lab to work on all the projects that require a computer, you can just carry a laptop with you and you don’t disrupt anyone else.

The laptop has been the best tool for me to complete scholarships on time and keep all of my resumes organized.

Switching to a full-time laptop school has been a very convenient and easy transition for my peers and I. It has greatly expanded

the ways that I can communicate with my teachers. Through our school-based email accounts we have been able to communicate

daily with teachers about assignments and grades. With the guidance counselor about dates and times for scholarships and tests,

and just getting the daily announcement.
The laptops are so much more convenient for me when it comes to homework. I am not confined to just using books and a notebook

and sitting at home at the table writing out my assignments. I speak from personal experience when I say that being a full time

student involved in many extra curricular activities can be very stressful and overwhelming. Sometimes it seems as though it is

impossible to get everything done in one day, between several practices a day, the bus rides, homework, church, and family time.

But with our computers, I am able to do my homework on the bus rides home, which save me a couple hours of time that I can

instead use for sleep or family time.
Having computers also prepares me for the bigger world outside of high school. I am going to college in about one year, and

I know that I am better prepared now for it thanks to the computers. I am used to using research from the internet for my homework,

I am accustomed to getting homework off the websites, and using different programs for various projects that we do.

Dave H.: This laptop has helped me keep my homework and documents a lot more organized than I was last year. And I dont

have very good handwriting so the teachers really like it when I do my homework on my laptop.

Jana C: 1. Homework is much easier and quicker to complete on the computer. 2. I can work at my own pace on projects for

computer lit. that require computer time.

Thomas Bishop: Without a laptop, I find myself lost because I lack access to information via the internet and in lessons, they have

become such an enhancement to class, that without them a student feels disconnected and gains fairly little from the lesson. It

is important to note, that they are enhancements, that the lessons could go on without them, but they enhance a student’s ability

to access, record, organize and retrieve information in such a way, that we have become dependent upon their use.

Kelsey H. Laptops have helped a great deal with the ability to do your homework at school, it allows you the freedom to do your

homework where ever you want to. It is also a good way for students to learn more about technology and the things computer has

to offer.

Having a laptop has helped me become a more visual learner, whereas before I was mostly audio. I think that this has helped me

become a better student because I can learn in more than one way and it helps me become more rounded. -Natasha Dodge

My laptop has made me a more responsible student because I now have to keep track of it and take excellent care of it. It has also

made taking notes so much easier and cut the research time in half. Thanks, you rock peace out. Christa E.

The laptop has changed me as a student and a learner because it gives me more opportunities do different things with my homework

and show my creative side. This laptop is now like a necessity to me and to my grades. Natasha Sage. The laptop has changed me as

It has helped me do all types of things that we couldn’t do before like iMovies because we all had to share desktops that we could

only work on at the school. it has also helped me as a learner because with this laptop we can look up websites that the teachers

give us right away and we don’t have to wait until we get home and forget to look it up. Jonathan Magill

My laptop has made me a faster listener, because you have to type what you hear onto your laptop, and many teachers don’t repeat

what they say, so you have to listen very intensively. The laptops have given me an extra boost in studying, because they are more

fun to use than traditional pencil and paper. Shandell Gunther: My laptop has made me a faster listener, because you have to type

My laptop has helped me a lot this year with yearbook deadlines and Journalism deadlines i can work on them at home and at

school so i get it done a lot faster. I get my homework done a lot faster with writing questions. It just helps when you can work

on it at home to it changes everything in a good way. Christa G.

Hi. Well, first off my laptop has helped me because it makes writing assignments easier because i can type 5 times as fast as i

can write. it has also helped me because it is way easier to look up information with my own laptop instead of having to wait til

i get home to do so. git r done Zach L.

My laptop has changed me by encouraging me to be more active and interested in my schoolwork. It was made it possible for me

to become more organized. kari kenner

I get more of my assignments in on time and they are readable. I also can take notes faster than when I have to write it

out Jaime L.Blevins

My laptop has increased my ability to get work done and perfect my homework. My grades have went up drasticaly through

organization, neatness, and quality since I have gotten my laptop. DJ Andre

My laptop has made me more responsible, and it helps keep me more organized then what i used to be. I help keep my grades

up because I’m more organized. Alexandra Varney

The laptops have made my work easier to manage and also more of my work has been done on time. all of my work has also

been of a higher quality By Casey Ross

I think that they are great and the neatest things to have for us. They helped me by being able to take it home and type out

stuff and use the net and not have to wait for everyone to get done with the computers. Cade Ogburn

I dislike the laptops greatly because they are fragile and they are a hindrance. As a student they have not helped me in school,

in fact they have helped me become more distracted at home with easier access to the internet and other distractions instead

of doing my homework. ?Brent

This year is the first year in a long time that I’ve gotten all A’s. I think i owe that a lot to my laptop availability! It’s great having

it always at my side, being able to look up information and/or type an assignment. -Vanessa!
